Dennis is a Director of the New Zealand based forest industry advisory, publishing and conference and industry tour organising company, DANA (NZ) Limited.

Dennis has had previous experience in almost all aspects of the forestry and forest products sector working for Fletcher Challenge, and until 2020 regularly traveled to several overseas countries to update his information base on the industry. He has been a Director of TIMO, a eucalyptus plantation- owning company, and a wood export company.

Dennis has been the author/co-author of twelve editions of the New Zealand Forest Industry Sector Review, the most recent published in 2020. With Gingko Consulting, he co-authored the 2020 Asia Pacific Woodchip Trade Review, and from 2005 - 2018 co-authored, with Boston Based FastMarkets RISI, the International Pulpwood Trade Review.

Dennis and DANA Events over the years have organised and co-organised conferences, field trips and industry tours globally -  Australia, Central America, China, North America, South Africa, South America, South East Asia, and United Kingdom to name a few. Unfortunatly the corona virus pandemic forced the cancellation and deferrment of all 2020 events; however this New Zealand four day three event sees the start of future DANA Events, and planning has commenced on 2021 and 2022 programmes.
