Mr. Dennis Neilson, Director of the New Zealand based international forest industry advisory and publishing firm, DANA (NZ) Limited and events organiser danaevents.

Dennis has been involved in Global Wood Products trade issues for decades. He organised the first shipment of New Zealand Radiata pine logs to China in 1985, and later was in a team which built a world scale sawmill in the United States.

He has also been directly involved in global forest investment issues for decades. In 2000 he attracted the first United States based Pension Funds to invest in forests outside the United States (in New Zealand). For several years he was CEO of a Timber Investment Management Organisation (TIMO).

Dennis has also organised/co-organised five Global Forest Investment Conferences in NYC (including in 2024) and four in London - and several regional forest investment events in Latin and Central America, Asia and Africa. He has also organised a Mass Timber Seminar in London.

He has co-authored several multi-client Reviews, including: ‘The Chinese Softwood Sawmilling & Veneer / Plywood Sector’ (2014), The Global Tree Farm Economics Review (five editions), ‘Russian Timber: A Growing Force in World Trade’ (2019) and ‘China Softwood Supply And Demand Outlook Review’ (2022 and 2024).
