Rudolf has almost 30 years of experience in the global forestry sector. His career includes industry and consulting experience. Rudolf’s early industry work includes senior management roles with a sawlog growing company, an international pulp and paper group and the planning and implementation of one of the largest greenfield plantation forestry projects in Southeast Asia. His current consulting career centres on the forestry sector in the Asia Pacific but includes consulting assignments further afield.

Rudolf is a founding Director of Margules Groome Consulting. Prior to Margules Groome, he led Pöyry’s (now AFRY) Land, Forest, and Wood Products business in the Asia Pacific.  Rudolf’s experience includes complex land use, forest resource, market, business competitiveness and climate change issues in a fast-growing region of the world.

Rudolf has worked with institutional investors, industry companies, and government to inform strategy and to improve outcomes in business performance, shareholder value, and policy. Rudolf has project experience in investment strategy, transaction advice, asset valuations, feasibility studies, due diligence studies, and market analysis.

Rudolf holds an MSc in Forest Science from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and an MBA (Exec) with distinction from RMIT University in Melbourne.
